Writing Pages

Writing a page is very similar to writing a post.  If you have not read our Getting Started: Your First Post take a moment to read through the tutorial to get familiar with some of the basics including the log in, and default Dashboard.

Once you have logged into your blog you can access the Write Page screen in one of two ways.  You can click on the link on the far right side of the screen that reads: Write a New Page.

Or, you can click on the “Write” link on the far left side of the screen. Then click on the “Page” link directly underneath (and a bit to the right) of the Write link, and this will take you to the “Write Page” screen.

Enter the title of your page into the box below “Title”, and write the content of your page in the box below “Page”, just like you were writing a post. The big differences between posts and pages is basically how they are displayed and what the general content of each are.

Posts are usually written in the moment and will generally be of a dynamic nature “scrolling” off your blog into its archives as you write more posts. Pages are generally written to be more static or not changing very often, such as the About page, and contain information or details that are not really time sensitive in the same way posts tend to be.

Some blogs are written entirely as pages, and some blogs never have more than the default About page ever written. It really is up to the author how their blog will be written, and what posts, or pages, or mixture of both will be used.

Enjoy!
